Lead Diesel Technician – Minneapolis

This is a full-time, evening shift, hourly position.

Pay range: $35+/hr; Based upon experience

Aspen Waste Systems is hiring a Lead Diesel Technician for Aspen’s full-service heavy truck maintenance facilities in Eagan, MN. Aspen’s Minnesota facilities operate a fleet of more than 100 vehicles between the Minneapolis and Eagan locations.

The Lead Diesel Technician position is located at Aspen’s brand-new facility in Eagan. The facility was built to maintain Aspen’s superior fleet and includes 5 generously sized maintenance bays with state-of-the-art equipment, including new truck lifts, plus 2 truck wash bays, and a beautiful new office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Aspen’s Lead Diesel Technician will be responsible for ensuring assigned 2ndshift maintenance work is completed accurately, and will oversee the work of up to six technicians on the evening shift. The Lead Diesel Technician will ensure productivity, shop cleanliness, safety and mechanical excellence. The Lead Diesel Technician will also mentor, teach, and share expertise with fleet technicians. It will be the responsibility of the position to address all driver vehicle inspection reports in a timely and efficient manner. The Lead Diesel Technician will perform necessary repairs and inspections to maximize safe and productive operations. This includes performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery. The Lead Diesel Technician will also complete inspections, diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, suspension, steering systems and brake systems.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualified candidates will have experience in heavy truck diagnostics and repair including: Diesel engines, electrical, suspension, steering, air brakes and hydraulics. Previous experience with refuse equipment is a plus.
