AppliancesAppliances can be disposed of through junk removal services like Mountain Men Junk Removal and LoadUp, who offer pickup and responsible recycling or donation.

Appliances may also be disposed of at the Veolia Colorado Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center.
BatteriesDispose of batteries in the Denver metro area through local drop-off locations, such as Home Depot, Call2Recycle partner sites. For rechargeable batteries, place them in a separate bag with terminals taped, and drop them at a designated collection site like Home Depot. For single-use alkaline batteries, check if local stores like Batteries Plus accept them for recycling, or dispose of them in your regular household trash unless they are lithium metal, which require special handling.
ElectronicsDispose of electronics in the Denver metro area through retail stores like Best Buy, which accepts e-waste for residents (with limits on monitors and other items). Other options include specialized junk removal services such as Green Earth Junk Removal, Blue Star Recyclers, or non-profits like Denver Tech For All, which may refurbish or recycle devices for free, with hard drive scrubbing included.
Fluorescent light bulbsDispose of fluorescent light bulbs in the Denver metro area at participating retailers like Ace Hardware and The Home Depot, or by using a mail-back program like BulbCycle. The city's HHW program allows residents to bring their bulbs for free recycling, while many Ace and Home Depot locations accept Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) for recycling. For long fluorescent tubes, which are often not accepted at retail drop-off points, a mail-back kit is a convenient option.
Liquid wasteLiquid waste disposal in the Denver metro area can be handled through specialized commercial services like Clean Management, Clean Earth, GFL Environmental Inc., Liquid Environmental Solutions, or Clean Harbors for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste.
Medical wasteMedical waste like bandages, gauze, gloves, and tubing should be placed in a doubled, securely sealed, opaque plastic trash bag.

Disposing of these items in the regular trash is generally acceptable.
Needles & SharpsPlace needles in a rigid, leak-proof and puncture-resistant container, like a plastic bottle or sharps container, then sealing it tightly and dispose of in household trash.

Seal with heavy-duty tape to prevent accidental opening. Label the container clearly as "Sharps" or "Needles".

Do not recycle needles. Do not flush needles.

Or you may consider using sharps disposal devices that bend, break, incinerate, or shear needles, and then dispose of the remaining syringe and melted metal in the garbage. Some manufacturers offer mail-back programs for sharps containers.
