Aspen Waste Systems has implemented a recycling method that allows all clean recycled glass, paper and plastic items to be put into the same container for

These items can be commingled and recycled:

General recycling

  • Aluminum cans, foil and trays
  • Gable top containers, such as milk and juice cartons
  • Steel and tin cans
  • #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 clear or colored plastic such as, but not limited to, detergent fabric softener, coffee containers, yogurt cups, household cleaners, beauty aids, beverage bottles and food containers
  • Plastic buckets, such as kitty litter containers
    (5 gal. size maximum)
  • Glass food & beverage bottles and jars (clear, brown and green);

Residential Paper Fiber

  • Newspaper including inserts
  • Cardboard (no waxed cardboard)
  • Brown paper bags
  • Magazines, catalogs and telephone books
  • Office computer paper, notebooks and gift wrap
  • Chipboard: cereal, cake & food mix boxes, gift boxes
  • with plastic inserts removed
  • Carrier stock: soda and beer carrying cases
  • Junk mail and envelopes
  • Paperback books

Recycling tips:

  • Recycle #1Recyclable plastics have a number inside a triangle on the bottom of the container. Aspen takes numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 plastics
  • Empty and rinse all containers
  • Leave labels on the containers
  • Lids can be recycled
  • Return plastic bags to grocery or department stores
